Karen and Karlo Wedding Extravaganza

Hi all,

This summer has been quite busy for me with wedding bookings. Most recently was the glamorous wedding of Karen and Karlo. I decided to blog about this particular one because the bride Karen booked my services for the whole entire day, requesting 4 hair and makeup changes through out the day. The last 3 hair and makeup changes had to be completed in a short amount of time due to the hectic wedding schedule. It was a long day but I was excited and happy to be part of the Bridal entourage.

It was a beautiful wedding celebrating the reunion of Karen and Karlo. Our day started at Karen's parents' home where the bridal party got started getting ready at 6am.

Karen wanted a makeup look that brings attention to her eyes and a hair style that is modern yet classic. Here's a quick look at a before and after of the gorgeous bride Karen. The look here is our day ceremony look. Natural luminous skin, with defined eyes and brows paired with soft pink lips. For the hair, we went with a classic voluminous side bun.

Here's a look at Karen right before the Ceremony, excited to walk down the aisle to see her Husband-to-be, Karlo, for the first time.

After the ceremony, the bridal party and entourage traveled to Alexander Muir Memorial Gardens for their wedding photos. I did a quick touch up on the bride and bridal party right before the photo session began.

With my beginner skills in photography, I snapped a few quick shots of the bridal party.

The wedding reception took place at the Platinum Convention Center, and when we arrived, the venue was beautifully set up ready for a great party to begin.

It is now time to switch to our next look. I had about 30 minutes to do this switch.

For the makeup, the eyes were darkened into a more
dramatic evening smokey eye, stronger hi-light and contour was added to the face, and a glittery sheer fuchsia lip gloss was applied to the lips.

For the hair, Karen wanted a side ponytail. To add length and volume to the side ponytail, I pre-curled hair extension pieces and added them to her natural hair.

Karen's background is Chinese and her Hubby Karlo's background is Filipino, so she decided to change into both a traditional Chinese dress and a traditional Filipino Dress during the dinner.

We had about 10 minutes to do the 2nd change in hair and makeup.

For the Makeup, I added some drama by using a ruby red lip colour on her lips.

For the Hair, I took out the extensions and the side ponytail and pinned the hair into a classic low bun.

Karen looked gorgeous in both of her traditional bridal dresses.

The dinner reception is closing in to the end and it is now time for the beautiful couple to perform their first dance together. Time for me to change her hair and makeup into her last look.

For the last look, Karen wanted something a little more romantic but glamorous at the same time. I decided to add some old Hollywood Flair to this look.

For the Makeup, I deepened her eyes more and added some extra shimmer and sparkle. For the lips, I changed the red lips into a pink nude colour.

For the Hair, the low bun was taken down and pieces of hair were re-curled and one side was swept up and pined to give it that soft romantic wavy look.

The couple performed their first dance together as husband and wife to "At Last" by Etta James.

It was truly a beautiful wedding and I wish the wonderful couple all the happiness in the world!

Thanks for reading, that's all folks.

Til the next time...

  1. She looks so beautiful, and I'm in love with those traditional dresses. If I ever wed my Chinese boyfriend I totally want to wear a traditional Chinese Qi-pao for part of the ceremony, they are so so so beautiful!
