MAC - Chromagraphic Pencil

What is it:

It is a highly pigmented pencil that can be used for many things.

What are the available colours:

NC15/NW20 & NW25/NC30

It is modeled after the most popular foundation/concealer shades that Mac offers, so the effects it creates is very natural, because it'd match skin tones that are NC/NW15-NC/NW30.

How to use it:

1. Use it to line your lower lash waterline to open up your eyes instead of white eyeliner, creates a much more natural and softer look.

2. Use it to spot conceal blemishes with precision

3. Use it underneath lipstick as a primer or to neutralize your natural lip colour before applying lipstick

4. Use it under the brows to define and hi-light the brow bone

5. Use it as a reverse lip liner(tracing the outside of your lips) to prevent lipsticks/glosses from bleeding.

This liner came with the Pret-A-Papier collection, but I think it is a permanent product at the MAC Pro stores. This pencil is a wonderful multipurpose gadget that you should definitely try!

MY FAVOURITE SELF TANNING CREAM

MY FAVOURITE SELF TANNING CREAM

Clarins DELICIOUS SELF TANNING CREAM With Unsaponifiables of Cacao that leaves your skin glowy and yummy looking.

It claims to:

Provides a natural-looking tan with lasting radiance with a mistake-proof application that ensures even results.

What I think:
Absolutely true, one application usually lasts 4-5 days. The colour shows instantly as you apply the product, it also deepens over time. The result is natural and even. It is the idiot proof tanning cream, definitely no orange coloured streaks on the skin after use. One Jar will usually last me 6-8 months.

It claims to:
Moisturizes as it glides effortlessly under the fingertips to drape the skin in softness while an irresistible caramel colour helps guide application.

What I think:
Very true, the skins feels a little sticky at first, but it will dry fairly quickly, leaving your skin silky smooth.

It claims to:
Helps prevent premature skin aging. Now, you can maintain skin's youthfulness while you indulge

What I think:
This I'm not sure, however, the results of the cream is so natural that you now no longer need to bath yourself in the sun to achieve a summer glow. Less sun exposure = less sun damage = less wrinkles? :)

I love love love this tanning cream, I usually use it on my legs, because my legs doesn't get exposed to the sun much. It leaves my legs smooth, glowing, perfect for shorts and skirts in the summer.

I believe you can purchase this tanning cream at Sephora, The Bay and select Shoppers drug mart.

Ponds Cold Cream Rediscovered

The other day I was shopping at Walmart and I saw Ponds cold cream on sale, 2 for $6.95. It made me ask the question, how long has this cream been around? This is a cream I would picture on my grandmother's vanity table.

So I googled the cream, and found out that it was invented in the US by scientist Theron T. Pond in 1846. Given the longevity of this product, it must be tried, tested and true(?). So I bought some to try and I was very impressed by it.

What is it?

Cold cream is an emulsion of fats and water which can be used to clean and soften the skin. Traditionally, cold cream has been used to remove makeup gently at the end of the day, and it can also be used to soften tough skin on the knees and elbows, or to keep skin protected from harsh winter weather.

The concept of cold cream is quite ancient. Credit for the invention is usually given to Galen, a second century Greek physician who developed an emulsion of beeswax, oil, rose petals, and water. The cream was designed to moisturize and condition the face, and to help remove the harsh makeup of the period.

I have been using this cream to:

1. Remove makeup - spread all over the face and scrub with fingers in small circular motions, including the eyes, and wipe off with a warm wash cloth. This leaves the skin soft, moisturized and clean. It removes every trace of makeup, including the waterproof mascara I always use.

2. Moisturize cuticles and hands, elbows, knees and feet, it leaves the skin a little grease, so best to use at night and leave on over night.

You can also mix cold cream with oats and use it as a scrub.

I have already gone through one jar of cold cream. I have been using it religiously to remove makeup every night and it leaves the skin so soft that most of the time I don't even need to apply moisturizer.

Now, everyone's skin is different. I can see this cream being too heavy for someone with oily type skin or acne prone skin, but hey, its only 7 bucks, what do you have to lose if you bought one to try! :)

You can't miss Lush when you are walking pass it because of the gorgeous smell of their products. I've never tried anything from Lush before, lately I've taken a interest and watched a bunch of Youtube videos reviewing the products, i.e best of lush, top 5 from lush, must haves from lush. etc.
